Do you know how to tie your shoes?

I love TED.

Really.  If TED were a man, I’d be having an affair with him.

Thankfully, my husband and I can enjoy TED together.  Of course, I am referring to Ted.com.  If you’ve never been there, then be prepared to spend some time watching inspiring, funny, and enlightening videos.  I thought this video was all three of the above.  (It’s only 3 minutes – watch it!)

For those of you knowledgable on the subject of knots, I beg you to withhold your disdain and not enter into a debate on square knots, granny knots, or any other kind of knot.  Rather, I ask you to watch the video to the end, listen to what Mr. Moore has to say just before exiting, and ask yourself, “What simple change in my life is right in front of me?”

We often think that positive changes involve struggle or sacrifice (dieting to lose weight, hours training for athletic competition).  Yet we readily accept that our lives can be changed for the worse at any moment (tornadoes, car crashes).  What if we reversed our thinking?  What if change does not really have to be so difficult?

In my professional experience, the simplest techniques often have the strongest reaction from clients.  While elaborate techniques are fun and feel wonderful, the simplest of applications in Vedic Thai bodywork can yield the most profound results, if for no other reason than that the recipient is not expecting anything.

What changes do you think can happen in your life if you remove struggle and expectation?
